Its 50,000-watt signal serves Chicago and reaches listeners across much of the Midwest, while the official online stream carries the station beyond its AM coverage area.
The weekday lineup begins with WGN Early Morning News and Bob Sirott, followed by John Williams, the Noon Business Lunch, Lisa Dent, Jon Hansen, John Landecker or Dave Plier, and overnight hosts Rollye James and Walter Sterling. Weekend programs cover home improvement, law, travel, pets, personal finance, entertainment, and long-form conversation.
WGN first signed on in 1924 and remains closely identified with Chicago. The station is owned by Nexstar Media Group and shares news resources and its brand heritage with WGN-TV.
