About the station

103.7 KSON is a commercial country radio station licensed to San Diego, California, and owned by Audacy. The station focuses on new country music, artist features, concerts, contests, and local events. Its current weekday lineup includes John & Tammy: San Diego’s Morning Show, and listeners can use this page to access the KSON live stream and verified station information.

The history of the present 103.7 FM facility began in February 1965, when it signed on as KSDO-FM with classical programming. The frequency later carried country as KOZN-FM, beautiful music as KJQY “K-Joy,” soft adult contemporary as “Sunny 103.7,” classic rock under the KMKX and KPLN call signs, talk as KSCF “Free FM,” modern adult contemporary as “Sophie @ 103.7,” and contemporary hits as KEGY “Energy 103.7.”

The KSON call sign and country format moved from 97.3 FM to 103.7 FM in November 2017 following the Entercom–CBS Radio merger and a swap between the two sister signals. This placed the established KSON identity on the stronger 103.7 facility. The former 92.1 FM simulcast was not retained, so neither 97.3 nor 92.1 should be treated as a current KSON frequency.

KSON also has a long connection to San Diego country and bluegrass audiences. The KSON Bluegrass Special, hosted by Wayne Rice, ran from 1976 until 2020 for more than 2,300 broadcasts. Today, KSON continues on 103.7 FM and HD Radio; its former HD2 and HD3 services are historical and are not listed as active listening alternatives.
