The station signed on September 1, 1962 as KEVE-FM and adopted the KQRS call letters in 1964. After decades as a classic-rock leader, KQRS refreshed its sound in April 2025, adding more ’80s, ’90s and early-2000s alternative rock while retaining familiar heritage artists.
Licensed to Golden Valley, Minnesota, KQRS serves Minneapolis–St. Paul with 100 kW ERP. It is owned by Cumulus Media through Radio License Holdings LLC. Sister stations include 93X (KXXR) and the three-frequency Love 105 service. No additional current KQRS simulcast frequency was confirmed.
