About the station

Listen to NPR online

OPB Radio 91.5 FM is the Portland flagship of Oregon Public Broadcasting’s statewide radio network. The nonprofit service combines NPR and BBC news with reporting about Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. Its weekday lineup includes Think Out Loud, Morning Edition, Here & Now, All Things Considered, and Fresh Air.

OPB’s broadcasting roots reach back to 1923, when Oregon Agricultural College—now Oregon State University—began an AM radio experiment. Educational stations across Oregon were later combined into a statewide public-broadcasting network during the 1970s. OPB now operates independently as a community-supported nonprofit.

KOPB-FM broadcasts on 91.5 FM in Portland, while full-power companion stations and translators carry OPB Radio throughout Oregon. The frequency table below lists major related signals. OPB currently provides listening through its official web player, but no stable browser-compatible HTTPS audio URL was verified for direct use on this site.

How we verify NPR

Last verified
Our verification method

We match the call sign, licensed frequency, city of license, and facility identity against FCC data. We then compare the station name, format, schedule, and related signals with the station’s official website and test the listed stream in a browser-compatible player. Regional restrictions, breaking news, and live sports can still change availability or programming.
